1. Drag the brush palette away from the tool palette. See the topic “About Palettes” for information on moving palettes.
2. Select a brush shape.
3. Set the spacing for the brush. Move the slider bar to the left to set the brush to paint with solid, continuous spacing. Move it to the right to set the brush to paint with broken spacing.
You can also use the brush palette to add, remove, copy, paste, save, load, and edit brush shapes.
To add a brush shape:
1. Select an image.
2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
3. Choose Paste from the brush palette window’s Edit menu. The brush shape is pasted at the end of the brush palette.
Note: You can also add a brush shape by choosing New from the brush palette window’s File menu. For information on editing brush shapes, see the “Editing Brushes” topic.
To remove a brush shape:
1. Select the brush shape.
2. Choose Cut or Clear from the brush palette window’s Edit menu.
To cut or copy a brush shape and paste it in a new location on the brush palette:
1. Select the brush shape.
2. Choose Cut or Copy from the brush palette window’s Edit menu.
3. To paste the brush shape at the end of the brush palette, choose Paste from the brush palette window’s Edit menu.
To save a brush shape as a separate document:
1. Select the brush shape.
2. Choose Save from the brush palette window’s File menu.
3. Select the folder into which you want to save the brush shape.
4. Enter a name for the brush shape.
5. Click Save.
To load a brush shape that has been saved on disk:
1. Choose Load from the brush palette window’s File menu.
2. Select the brush shape you want to load.
3. Click Open.
To edit a brush shape, select it and choose Modify from the brush palette window’s Edit menu. For more information on editing a brush shape, see the “Editing Brushes” topic.
